- Adjust your rhythm in good time.Ideally, start one to two weeks in advance to adjust wake-up and sleep times back to the school routine.
- Involve children.Let them choose their own backpack, water bottle, or other school/kindergarten essentials.
- Don't forget names.A small name tag or embroidery ensures nothing gets lost.
- Practice the school route together.Walk the route to school or kindergarten a few times together beforehand.
- Talk about feelings.Excitement, anticipation, but also a little nervousness are completely normal – take time to talk about them.
- Plan fixed rituals.A shared breakfast, a small surprise in the lunchbox, or a quiet crafting session provide stability in the new routine.
- Increase anticipation with a countdown.A homemade tear-off calendar turns waiting for the first day of school into a small adventure.
